Clyde H. "Jack" Winn

SPRINGFIELD - Clyde H. "Jack" Winn, 91, of Springfield, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Regency Nursing Care in Springfield.

He was born in Louisiana, MO, on April 23, 1921, the son of Clyde H. and Grace McMullen Winn. Jack graduated from Springfield High School, and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corp. Jack married June Vasconcelles in Springfield, Oct. 3, 1947, and she survives.

He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Winn of Pana, IL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, three brothers, Kenneth Sr., Dale and John Winn, and a nephew, Kenneth Winn Jr., all preceded him in death.

Jack retired in 1983 from CIPS (Central Illinois Power Service) as a fuel buyer. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post #32, was a member, and served as Exalted Ruler in 1961, of the Elks Lodge#158, was a mason, and a member of the Ansar Shrine. He enjoyed coin collecting, and volunteered as a Red Coat at Memorial Medical Center.

Honoring Jack's wishes, Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.

A memorial gathering will be on Thursday Feb. 21, 2013 at the Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, from 3 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 4 p.m. Rev. Mary Ellen Sharp will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.

In lieu of flowers, those that wish may direct memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospital.
