S. Russell Tucker

MASON CITY- S. Russell Tucker, 96, of Mason City, passed away on February 18, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1916 the son of Luther and Flossie (Neagle) Tucker in Tallula, IL. He married Winifred Jones, August 13, 1938 in Clayton, Mo.

Russell is survived by two daughters; Patricia A. Wayman of Indianapolis, IN and Peggy Jo (Daniel) Thomas of Mason City, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer fireman for 20 years. He was the school treasurer for 12 years and the church treasurer for 8 years and was the city treasurer for 16 years. Russell also worked for the GM&O Railroad and Ainsworth Seed Company. He retired at the age of 62.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Burial will follow the services at the Mason City Cemetery.
