D. Todd Sonntag

ROANOKE, VA - D. Todd Sonntag, 48, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Chatham and Glenarm, IL, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013. He was born December 1, 1964, in Springfield, IL to the late Herbert Charles and Joyce Elaine Ludwig Sonntag. Todd graduated from Glenwood High School and Capital Area Career Center in 1983. He is an avid Chicago Bears fan. In 1985, he joined the US Navy and was discharged in 1988. Mr. Sonntag was a welder in the construction trades.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Sonntag of Glenarm; daughter, Tiffany Sonntag (fiancé, Robert Soran) of Kimberly, Idaho; stepdaughter, Jessica (Vinse) Edwards of Fayetteville, NC; grandson, Kyler Soran of Kimberly, Idaho; sisters, Jill Warrington (fiancé, David Marr) of Modesto, IL and Angela (Richard) Naddy of Hawthorn Woods, IL; his life companion, Patty Whitt of Roanoke, VA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: His family will greet friends from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Paula Staab Polk will be the funeral celebrant. Cremation rites will then be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois in Chatham.

Burial and Committal of his urn will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Kyler Soran Education Fund for his grandson.
