Sally A. Weiskopf
SPRINGFIELD - "Grandstand Sally" Weiskopf, 64, of Springfield, formerly of Austin, TX, died at 6:32 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born September 23, 1948, in Canton, IL, to Robert and Evelyn Coultas Dabney.
Survivors include a daughter Sara (Forrest) McKnight of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Audrey, Mitch, MacKenzie and Claire and their mother, Lynn, all of Springfield; sister-in-law, Kaye Brittin of Pleasant Plains; three brother-in-laws, Norman Weiskopf of Naples, FL, Mike Flexenhar of Bonita Springs, FL, and Dick Schofield of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; son, Scott Weiskopf; brother, Bob Dabney; three sisters, Marilyn Benedict, Donna Schofield and Linda Gaydos preceded her in death.
Sally retired from both The Prairie Capital Convention Center as an event coordinator and the State of Illinois as grandstand manager. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Sally was an avid Chicago Cub fan. She was a member of Springfield's Women's Bowling Association and Emerita. She was on the All Star team in 1988 and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home.
Lie-in-State: 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
