When an old friend dies, memories come to mind. Growing up with Dan, we rode on the same school bus. We used to argue a lot about which machinery brand was the best. Frank had International, and my Dad had John Deere. We never did resolve that issue.
At the U of I, Dan tried to get me to join his fraternity. They had some good parties there. Dan and I met several times to have several beers together.
One thing I always enjoyed about Dan was his humor and his frankness. There was no guessing where Dan stood on issues.
Ruth, may God's grace and memories with Dan console you through your time of grieving.
