John William Margreiter, age 84, of Burlington, passed away June 24, 2013. He was born October 27, 1928 in Medford, Oregon, to George and Lillian (Warner) Margreiter.
John married Gloria Solomon in Seattle on December 6, 1951 while he was in the Army. He served the US Army in Germany and at Fort Lewis, finally settling in the Snoqualmie Valley for 37 years.
He worked for Weyerhaeuser and later as an Industrial Appraiser until his retirement, when he and Gloria moved to Whidbey Island. John was an avid fisherman, golfer and hunter. He loved his family and the outdoors.
John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria; son, Jerry, and his wife, Cheryl Margreiter, of Renton; grandchildren, Benjamin and Corinne; sister, Dorothy McElroy, of Granite Falls; brother, Bob Lott, of Spokane; brothers-in-law, Roy, and his wife, Debbie Solomon, of North Bend, and John Solomon, of Sedro-Woolley; sister-in-law, Jackie Solomon, of Concrete and nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be held. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Share your memories of John and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.
