Betty is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Brumley, her son Michael Whealy and his fiance' Yvonne, her grandson Scott Whealy and his wife Stephanie and their children Donovan, Alistair, Caylen and granddaughter Jennifer Whealy. Betty was a long time resident of Skagit County. She delivered the newspaper for 35 years in the upriver part of the county, where she was known as the Paper Lady for several generations. Betty loved what she did and felt if was important, she will be greatly missed by her many customers that relied on her to bring their paper. Farewell Betty we love you.

Obituaries from the Past Week

In loving memory, Tyndel W. Baxter lost his battle with cancer on January 17, 2015. Tyndel was born March 16, 1940 in Mount Vernon, WA. He married his friend and longtime love of his life, Judith Clark on November 19, 1965. His surviving loved ones are his wife, Judith A. Baxter; his two children, Robert T. Baxter, and, Brenda M. Poor & husband, Rick; two grandchildren, Haley N. & Ryan T. Poor; his brother & wife, Bert & Bitzi Baxter; his sister, Donna Sharples; his brother-in-law & wife, Butch & Barb Clark; and his sister-in-law & husband, Janet & Duane Robinson. His predeceased family includes his infant daughter, Barbra Jean; one brother; and his parents. Tyndel served in the U.S Marines for 2 years, and, the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He went on to work for several years, and then retired from Franz Bakery. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard. He was always playing outside and fighting with the moles. No services are planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington. We are asking people who want to do something for us to donate to the cross fund through the Burlington Fire Department, the Burlington Firefighters Association, or, the cancer fund.
