Clarita Cabarlo Navidad passed away January 21, 2015 at Skagit Valley Hospital. She was born November 6, 1943 in Agno, Philippines, and Clarita grew up in Baloan, Pangasinan and attended Agno Elementary, St. Mary High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at National Teacher's College. In 1968 she was a volunteer teacher at San Sebastian College. In 1969 she immigrated to the USA and obtained a teaching position at Darrington Consolidated School. In 1975 she met Romeo Ubungen, her devoted lifetime companion. Clarita retired from teaching in 1994 and took on managing rental properties. She loved spending time talking and eating with family and friends and playing slots at the Skagit Valley Casino. She was a parishioner at both St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington and Immaculate Conception Church in Mount Vernon. She is survived by her mother Crescencia Navidad and Romeo Ubungen, her faithful loving companion. She was preceded in death by her father Angel Navidad and brother Wallit Navidad. Viewing will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 3:00pm until 8:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home and Friday, January 30, 2015 9:00am until 5:00pm also at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday January 31, 2015 at 9:00am at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington followed by a Interment at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline at 11:30am. Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.
