The first location of his business was in the old Mount Vernon Mall. It moved to its current location in 1977.

He married his high school sweetheart Jean Eldridge in October 1972. They just celebrated 40 years together. David took much pride in his children and grandchildren. They spent several vacations in Sunriver, the San Juans on the family boat, and Disneyland. He and the family looked forward to their seafood feasts and ice cream outings.

He was an avid Husky sports fan, having football tickets for over 25 years. David gave his time to the youth of Mount Vernon coaching various stages of baseball for over 20 years. A number of summers were spent at Sherman Anderson and various locations throughout the state.
