Ernest White (Ernie) died unexpectedly at home on March 9, 2014 of a massive heart attack.
He was born on December 10, 1933 in Seattle, to Inez and Ernest Sr.
He spent much of his youth sailing the San Juan Islands with his cousin Stan Duncan.
He graduated from Highline High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Seattle Mountaineers and loved mountain climbing, summiting most of the mountains in the Pacific Northwest.
He married Judy in 1958 and graduated from the College of Forestry, University of Washington
, in 1961. Upon graduation, he went to work with Scott Paper Company Northwest Operations and continued there until his retirement 30 years later.
Ernie and Judy were married for 55 years, celebrating their 50th anniversary by chartering a sailboat and exploring the Caribbean islands.
He is survived by Judy and their three children, Julie (Arlington), Kevin (Carnation) and Craig (Boca Raton, Florida.) He also leaves six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Per his wishes, a private family memorial has been held and there will be no public service.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that a donation to an animal shelter be made in his name.
