Faye Marie Troth-Jensen passed away on January 12, 2014 with her loving family by her side.
Faye Marie was born on May 5, 1922 in Sedro Woolley, Washington to parents Etta and William Avery Stiles, the fifth child of six.
Faye is survived by her brother, William Stiles Jr. of Sedro Woolley, Washington; her children, Avette Troth-Gaiser, Lincoln City, Oregon; Terry Troth-Selbak (Nabil), Salem, Oregon; Delight Troth, Salem, Oregon; and Suzanne Troth-Schmidt (Tony), Dallas, Oregon.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents William Avery and Mary Etta Stiles, brother Louie Stiles, sisters, Helen Berg, Mable Cline, and Ann Nelson.
She leaves her dear grandchildren, Angela Gaiser, Nadim Selbak (Rebecca), Zane Selbak (Katie), Ramsey Selbak (McKenna), Matthew Schmidt (Erin), and Alyssa Schmidt Vaughn (Kelly), along with two precious great-grandsons, Nabeel Selbak and Leo Selbak. Faye is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Faye began her long career as a grade school teacher
in Mt. Vernon, Washington with an emergency teaching certificate received during WWII. Faye owned and operated Troth Kindergarten and Nursery School in Salem, Oregon from 1950-1966, owned and operated the Riverside Motel in Dallas, Oregon from 1972-1991, developed Troth subdivision in Salem, Oregon in 1975, was the first woman president of the Dallas Oregon Chamber of Commerce. In 2003, while Faye was in her 80's, she developed Four Sister's Village, in Pacific City, Oregon and donated land to Tillamook County for the Kiawanda Community Center.
Faye was a woman before her time; her tenacity, faith, belief and sheer determination about life will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Faye will be going home to Sedro Woolley, Washington for her final resting place with a private graveside service on Saturday, January 18, 2014.
To honor her life and memory, the family asks donations be made in her name to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute or Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
