George Allen Bradshaw, 77, a lifelong resident of Skagit Valley passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 22, 2012.

He was born in Mount Vernon on July 16, 1935 the son of the pioneer family Vaughn B. and Natalie (Baker) Bradshaw.

George went to school at Ridgeway Elementary until the fourth grade then attended Lincoln Elementary and later attended LaConner High School.

After high school he worked various jobs, as a truck driver driving to Eastern Washington and on oil rigs in Oklahoma. George worked at the Anacortes Plywood Mill as night foreman, after working there for twenty three years he worked for Rick Duperron for twenty seven years before retiring. In between working and family he volunteered for twenty years for the Mount Vernon and Anacortes Boy Scouts. He was also a volunteer fireman for Cedardale, Lake Erie, and Summit Park Fire Departments for twenty plus years.

George was not an idle person and enjoyed many activities such as hunting, gardening, and camping. He liked to watch old westerns, wrestling, and he could always appreciate a good joke. George was a positive and generous soul, touching many lives and was a good friend to all. He was very devoted to his faith and family. George was a Deacon at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Bradshaw of the family home; one daughter, Susan Forde of Anacortes; three sons, John (wife Carla) Bradshaw and James (wife Beverly) Bradshaw both of Anacortes and Levi Bradshaw of New York; twin brother, Lloyd (wife June) Bradshaw of Concrete; sister, Natalie (husband Darrell) Franklin of Dalles, OR; two step-children, Christine Kirkendall of MS and Gary Kirkendall of Sedro-Woolley; grandchildren, Lizzy and Sarah Bradshaw, Brenda Cole, Jessica Davis, Paul and Becky Foster, Julie Faucet, and many great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Benjamin and Percy Bradshaw; sisters, Bonnie, Maryln and Phyllis.

Memorials may go given to New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, general fund, 1319 35th St. Anacortes, WA 98221.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 1:00 PM to 5:00PM at Kern Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012, 1:00 PM at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Anacortes.
