Gertrude "Trudy" Meins, 91, a longtime Sedro-Woolley area resident, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Joshua's House Adult Family Home in Sedro-Woolley.

Trudy was born on July 15, 1922 in Morrow, Missouri, the daughter of Martin & Effie (Sauer) Butler.

She was raised and attended school in Iowa, until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1936, where she attended and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1940. She then attended beauty school in Bellingham.

On September 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Norman Meins in Sedro-Woolley and together they made their home in the Samish area north of Sedro-Woolley for 60 years.

Together Norm and Trudy worked on their family farm and Trudy also worked as a beautician out of her home, and would even go to some of her "special client's" home to style their hair. She was a beautician for many many years.

Trudy is survived by her brother, Martin Butler of Marysville; a half-sister, Stella Toesel of Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norman in 2010 and several half-brothers and sisters.

At Trudy's request there will be no public services. Private entombment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon.
