Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

Gert was born November 21, 1919 in Lynden, WA and was raised there. She moved to Skagit County when she was newly married to her husband Andrew. They lived on farms in Bow and Burlington. They later moved to Mount Vernon where she resided at Heather Village for the remainder of her life.

She is survived by her two sons, Dale and wife Leah of Mount Vernon and their children Lance (Trina) Visser; Lindsey (Jeremy) Vander Lei; Loren (Stacey) Visser; Luke; Camren; Maylee; and Allie. Dave of Burlington and his children Darla (Travis) Haveman; Daryl (Jillian) Visser; and Daeleen; great-granddaughters Danielle and Desiree; great-grandson Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, her daughter-in-law Lori Visser, and grandson David Visser.

Gert has been a long time member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She was involved with various activities within the church. She also was a long-time supporter of Mount Vernon Christian School and Bargains Galore.

We will all miss her but we are comforted in knowing that she is now at peace with her Heavenly Father in Glory.
