Heather Lea Schols passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 48 due to heart complications, surrounded by family and close friends, on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Heather was born on May 30, 1964 to Ray and Peach Robinson in Westminster, CA. The youngest of three children, the Robinson family moved to Washington and made their home in Skagit County.
Heather attended Lucille Umbarger Elementary and graduated from BEHS in 1982. She received an AA degree in Health Information Services from Shoreline Community College in 1984.
She worked at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA for several years before joining with her mother, Peach, in forming H&P Copy Service at Skagit Valley Hospital and NW Orthopedics where she took pride in her career as an Accredited Record Technician.
On August 28, 1992 Heather married her loving and supportive husband Kelly Schols and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley. October 12, 1994 marked the birth of her first beautiful daughter, Alysa, and the family was complete on May 23, 1997 as she was blessed with her second beautiful daughter, Amy.
Heather was very involved in the community where she had a passion for helping others. She was involved in both the American Cancer Society, as well as being a founding member of the Vala Youngquist Guild, a regional group in support of Children's Hospital. In these capacities, Heather never missed an opportunity to contribute at the highest level, giving her time, energy, creativity and genuine compassion for the cause.
As a kind and loving mother, Heather enjoyed every opportunity to be involved and support her daughters' activities. She volunteered countless hours of her time helping out wherever there was a need and provided a warm, safe, loving and fun environment in her home for her daughters' many friends. On any given weekend you could find the Schols' home spilling over with teenagers, which was a true delight for her.
She lived her life for her family and many close friends and enjoyed camping and welcoming loved ones to her special place in Crescent Bar. Heather was the most loving, caring, nurturing, generous, and supportive wife, mother and dear friend to all that have been fortunate to know her.
Heather was preceded in death by her mother and father, Peach and Ray Robinson.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Kelly Schols and daughters Alysa (17) and Amy (15); brothers, Ray Robinson, Jim Robinson and wife Christi; father-in-law, Lanny and wife Mary Ross; mother-in-law, Judy Martin and partner Donovan Miller; brothers-in-law, Mike and wife Margaret Schols, Mark Schols; nieces and nephews, Justin Robinson, KaLee (Schols) Hodgeson, Dylan Schols, Nina Schols and Taylor Schols; aunt Joey and her special aunt and uncle, Janet & Don Diaz, their children Kristina, Dawnelle, Michelle and their families.
