JUNE KENDALL(1916 - 2013)

Long-time local resident, June Kendall, passed away in her home at the La Conner Retirement Inn on Friday, March 1, 2013.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members.

June Elnora Kendall was born on Lopez Island, February 20, 1916, the daughter of Edna and Harry Jennings. Her ancestors settled there in 1869.

She was married to Stan Kendall, and they raised their son in Coos Bay, Oregon. She also served 20 years as a police officer with the Coos Bay Police Department.

June lived in Shelter Bay/La Conner for the last 30 years, where she made many good friends. Over the years she had been active with the Garden Club, Historical Museum, and loved to garden and craft.

She is survived by her great niece, Terri Geibel, great nephews Bob and Pat Voeks, as well as nine great-great nieces and nephews, for whom she was very proud.

June was admired by many, and will be missed by all.

Upon her request, her ashes will be scattered over Puget Sound, near her birth place.

Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
