MARY ELIZABETH "LIZ" ROBERTS(1944 - 2013)

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Roberts passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013, after a courageous struggle with cancer.

Liz was born November 18, 1944 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband and companion on their world travels, Ken Roberts; her beloved children, Stephanie Holmberg, Laura Swanson, and Grant Howells; as well as five grandchildren; Emma, Teague, and Madeline Holmberg; Shelby and Gavin Swanson all of WA, all who gave her great joy. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen (Kiki) May, brothers William, David, Christopher (Karen) and James (Janice) Howells.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents; William and Georgiana Howells; sister and brother-in-law, Miriam (Mimi) and Dr. Ronald Jans; and nephew Timothy May.

Liz attended Sacred Heart School and St. Mary's Girls of Calgary, AB before continuing her education at Fort Wright College, Spokane, WA and Western Washington University.

Liz taught school for 33 years in the Lake Washington, Anacortes, and Mount Vernon School Districts. Liz and Ken had just recently retired to Sun City West, AZ.

A celebration of Liz's life will be held at Bowman Bay - Deception Pass State Park at noon on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Friends are warmly invited to attend. For more information, please contact Ken at 623-243-9847.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in her memory to Immaculate Conception Regional School and the Mount Vernon School District Foundation.
