ORVILLE "HUCK" HOCKETT

Orville "Huck" Hockett, a lifetime resident of Skagit Valley, went home to be with the Lord on September 18th, 2013.

Huck was born in Sedro-Woolley to Sumner and Florence (Ellison) Hockett.

He graduated from Concrete High School in 1956. Huck served in the Navy (Seabees) and was a welder by trade, using his skills to gain employment and be very creative in his spare time.

He built an articulating tractor, named Leaping Lizzy, a portable sawmill, and many other farm implements. He would graciously lend his skills to anyone who was in need.

Huck worked for Skagit Steel in Sedro-Woolley, Harkness Logging, owned his own logging truck for several years and drove his own long-haul eighteen-wheeler. He was working for Concrete Northwest when he retired in 2003.

Huck is survived by his wife Candi Hockett of Sedro-Woolley, son Chad (Tracie) of Tonasket, son Brett of Sedro-Woolley, 3 grandchildren: Kylie, Cade and Alex, brother Leon (Jan) of Westport, sister Ardath (Bob) Hesselgesser of Wauna, WA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Shawnie Kaminski of Mt. Vernon, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ian and Judy Hollingsworth of Ramona, CA, 10 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Faith Baptist Church, 800 E. Rio Vista Ave, Burlington at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 22.

The family recommends any memorials be made to the charity of the givers choice.
