Phyllis Elizabeth Clark, 97, passed away at home in Bow, Washington on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She was born in Oshkosh, WI to Elsie and Ignatius Fleischman on June 8, 1916.
In her mid-twenties she headed west to Los Angeles, California to work at Lockheed Aircraft during World War II. In 1945, she met a dashing U.S. Marine, Andrew Clark, at the Palladium Ballroom on Sunset Boulevard and they married three months later. She and Andy raised two children in the San Fernando Valley. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children including the special care of her son, Jeffrey.
In 1973 she and Andy retired and moved to Paradise, California where Phyllis enjoyed an active, friend-filled life including membership in Soroptimist and P.E.O. She loved to travel, shop with her dear friend Jackie, and volunteer at the Paradise Library and Community House thrift store.
In 2010 she and Jeffrey moved to the Skagit Valley to live with her daughter where she enjoyed compassionate caregiving from Kathea, Trish, Marty, and Mora.
Survivors are her son Jeffrey Clark; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Clark and Bob Jones; and granddaughter, Ellis Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Clark; twin brother, Phillip Fleischman; and sister, Betty Segor.
A service will be held in Paradise, California later this year.
