Our beloved Richard passed away at his residence in Mt. Vernon on March 22.
He was born in Mount Vernon February 1, 1947. The first child of four from parents Helen and Earl, his siblings Sam and Debbie soon followed, with Terry a bit further down the road.
Richard will long be remembered for his many talents and accomplishments. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War
, with over 5 years of service. He returned home in the early 70's and pursued what he fought so long and hard for. Our freedom to live life how we choose. His fine musicianship has entertained thousands of us, and his kind and gentle way has touched just as many, if not more.
He is survived by his brother Terry, Aunt Fran Bryant, stepfather David Manier, niece and nephew Misty Haugland and Jason Haugland along with their families. He had many close relatives and friends ranging from Alaska to California, and then some.
His mother Helen was his inspiration, as her memory is and always will be for so many of us. "Chord" loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He will be missed ever so much, and remembered forever.
Please rest peacefully now my brother...we love you.
There will be a military service at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA. Friday May 2, at 10:30 am. There will also be a private service for close friends and family near the end of July.
