On Friday, August 16, 2013, Robert Earl Russel peacefully went to be with his Lord and savior after years of declining health. Born in Chehalis, WA Aug. 10, 1951. Bob grew up in Packwood, WA, moved to California and graduated from N. Hollywood High (1969).

He was married and went into the United States Air Force where he served as an airplane mechanic. He separated from the military in 1976 and obtained his Airframe and Powerplant license. He obtained his pilot's license and flew planes as often as he could while starting his own business as an airplane engine mechanic as certified by the FAA in Skagit County, Washington.

He raised his son in Skagit County and returned to southern California in 1993. In 1996, he was blessed with his daughter, Sophia. He loved family, working with his hands and he loved to fly.

Survived by: step-mom Barbara, wife Karen (7/2009), daughter Sophia Russel (16), son Matt Russel (38), grandkids Anne (15), Jonjo (12), siblings: Larry "Bo", Jan, Sue, Robin, and Irene.

He will be missed and his memory will be cherished. No service is scheduled at this time. He will be honored in a private setting at Tahoma National Cemetery.
