EDMUND HIEB Obituary

Edmund Leonard Hieb, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Christus St. John's Hospital in Nassau Bay, TX. He fought a brief but brave battle with cancer and heart disease.

Ed was born September 25, 1926, in Leola, South Dakota to Gottleib and Magdelana (Mayer) Hieb. He served his country in WWII in the Armed Forces.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Quincy #116 in Quincy, Washington, and had been a Master Mason in Lake Tahoe, California.

His life's work was as a pipefitter, and he was a member of the Plumber Pipefitters United Association Local #26, Western Washington for 45 years.

While he spent a great part of his life in Washington State, he had worked in Texas City in the 1960s and had finally returned to Texas to make his last home.

Ed was a big, lovely, colorful man who lived a full life.

He was always quick with a joke or story, entertaining friends and family daily. He laughed easily and often and we will treasure our memories of him.

Ed is survived by his wife, Virginia, and daughters Debra Howey of Texas City, Texas and son-in-law John Howey of Mattawa, Washington, Billie Jean Martini and husband Ralph of Phoenix, Arizona, and son Marshall David Hieb and Regina of Marysville, Washington. He had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren in his circle of family love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Walter, and his sister Adella.

Edmund's spirit is alive in our hearts.
There will be a Celebration of Life, in his memory at a later date.
