BLAKE STUTEVILLE Obituary

Blake Steven Stuteville, 22, born September 6, 1988 passed away on November 3, 2010.

The most difficult day in a family's life, we say farewell to our son, brother and friend. To those of you who knew Blake you are already aware of the type of person he was and these words you will read are already in your memory. To those who were not as fortunate, these words will give you a sense of the type of man he was and as an ideal for which we should strive. Blake has been often described as a gentle soul. He was pure of heart and had great sensitivity for the world around him. He had a way with people that made them feel comfortable around him and infected others to gravitate toward him. Blake exuded kindness and pulled generosity and humanity out from everyone he touched. He was everyone's best friend.

Blake was happiest when he spent time in the outdoors with his friends and family. He was an avid duck hunter and loved to go fishing. Blake found enjoyment from playing several athletic sports and had great enthusiasm for weightlifting. Blake loved to eat, his passion for food was known by all that loved him.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jill and Tye Hodgin; father, Brad Stuteville; brother, Mitchell Alvord; grandmother, Judy Lane; grandparents, Reese and Doris Stuteville; aunts and uncles, Dixie Hermesch, Reese Stuteville, and Jeff and Pam Renick; cousins, Jeffrey Renick, Zach Stuteville, and John and Gabriella Hermesch.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010, 1:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon with a reception to follow in the Hawthorne Reception Room.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a fund established in Blake's name, at North Coast Credit Union, Mount Vernon for Community Action.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

December 3, 2010

I have known many children and young adults in my lifetime. I have been a a scout leader, a youth group leader, and had college students live with me. I watched Blake grow up from the time he was 14-15 at Ken & John's house and no one has touched me as he did. I still can't believe I will never see his silly smile again. I was so sad that I could not even talk to you Brad. Why a wonderful, talented, young man had to leave us in such an awful way is so hard to understand. God must have needed him more than we did. I hope the lord wraps you in his arms and helps you through this. All my prayers are out to you.

Blake, It has almost been a month already, and i thought time would heal the pain. But not a day goes by where I drive by some place in the valley where we would hang out, or get some food. Even in my house. Im looking at the permanent marker ink on the support beam that seeped through a happy birthday banner for my dads 46th birthday. that was 6 years ago. I miss you man. So many memories we have together are the best memories in my life. Its hard getting used to the fact that you arent around anymore. I want to just drive up the road to your house and see if you wanna hang out, but I cant. I think about you every day. and your family every day too. Brad and Jill, I love you two and if you wanna get ahold of me, my # is 360-720-4342. Blake, My best friend, I love you and will remember you forever. You will still be in my life years down the road. My children will know the name blake around my house as a fearless, hilarious, HUGE, compasionate friend of their father. Goodbye my friend. My brother

Blake's Family: I want to say how sorry I am that Blake left this world so early. He was a real charmer of a guy, always courteous and friendly. I remember when our boys were younger and Blake would come down and stay overnight. He and Jesse lost touch for a few years and then this past year I saw Blake with Jesse quite a bit. I had some good heart-to-heart talks with the both of them. They both appeared to listen and Blake was always very respectful to me. I can only imagine your grieving and void right now. I have been praying for your pain and peace now and forever more. Take care.

Blake,

I dont even know where to begin.. All I have are fun and cherished memories of you. Your crazy sense of humor, infectious laugh, and smile that could light up a room. I always remember how you entered a room, you couldnt just walk, you just HAD to strut. It would make everyone laugh, including the teachers!

Even though your not with us, in spirit you always will be. You touched so many people in so many different ways, and there are so many memories of you by everyone around. I know looking back your laugh, smile and sense of humor will touch us all for years to come.

RIP Blake. We love and miss you!

November 10, 2010

Blake,
I dont really know where to begin.. We werent the best of friends in high school but I have so many fond memories of you. Your sense of humor, and how everytime you walked into the room you wouldnt just walk, you would strut lol. It would make everyone laugh, even the teachers.

I remember I was having a really bad day back my freshman year, we didnt really know eachother back then.. But it didnt matter to you. It was close to the end of the year and you came and sat right next to me.. It struck me as odd, we werent friends, and had hardly ever talked. I figured you were gonna ask me what was wrong just like everyone else did that day. But you didnt, you started talking crap about the teacher and cracking jokes to make me laugh, it suprised me, it was the first time that whole day I actually laughed.

Thats just the kind of person Blake was.. IS. No matter how bad of a day someone is having he could make them laugh, in any situation. A giant teady bear, great for hugs. =) I know those days arent over tho. Looking back we will all remember the stupid and funny things Blake did just to make us laugh. And we will.

We'll miss you buddy..

My mom used to baby sit you and she took us to the mall to see Santa Claus and i was so afraid and u just kinda laughed about it. I didnt get why u weren't scared to. We were just kids then but i remember us going to West view together! I will truly miss you, you were a good friend! My love goes out to you family. I will see you again someday until then, see you later blake.

Today we say goodbye to our Blakey. I am astounded by all of the people that my son touched, but yet I am not surprised. My big teddy bear who never ended a coversation without saying " I love you Mamma." The last two years that Blake was with us were very trying. My baby struggled but we as a family struggled together. Through it ALL Blake never lost his sensitivity and above all that smile that we will never forget. Thank you for your kind words, I read them daily and they help us more than you all know. Blake is gone but never, ever forgotten.
Good bye my sweet angel, I love you. Mamma

Every memory I have of you Blake, you have a smile on your face. I will never forget bugging you when you were working at Kmart. And those never ending arguments about whose car was fastest. It seemed every chance we had to get to know each other, we never seemed to maintain contact.

When we ran into each other a couple weeks ago it was so good to see you, it had been long time. I was happy to be in contact with you again.

You will forever remain in my thoughts Blake. My heart goes out to your family and loved ones.

Blake, I will never forget the first day I met you that day on the bus home from school in first grade. It was the first of many more to come. Little did I know that day, I had made a true friend. As time went on, you became more than a friend, or a best friend. You were like a brother to me; my partner in crime. In all the memories I have from my childhood, 9 out of 10 consist of a moment we both shared. The nights we stayed up until the sun rose playing video games at your house, all the times we had at the Glenhaven Pool, riding bikes throughout the neighborhood, random adventures with Josh and Mitch, and basketball at my house. Everything I cherish the most about growing up, you were always there to share it with me.

I am going to miss you buddy. You were always there to put a smile on my face, even when I was down. Thank you for all you have taught me and done for me. Words cannot express how thankful I am that I someone like you. You have made an impression on so many people. I love you buddy. I will never forget you.
