AZALEE PAINTER Obituary

Azalee L. Painter, 91, a longtime Hamilton area resident, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born on September 23, 1919 in Sylva, North Carolina, the daughter of George & Dellie (Ashe) Hoxit. She was raised and attended school in Sylva, NC.

On December 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Clarence Painter in Clayton, Georgia.

In 1946, the Painter family, Clarence, Azalee and young son, Harold moved to Hamilton where Azalee was a devoted wife and mother. She maintained her home where each spring she would grow flowers and vegetables, canning the vegetables for her family and friends.

She was a longtime member of the Hamilton Baptist Church.

Azalee is survived by her many friends in the Skagit Valley and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Clarence in 1994, her son, Harold in February 2011 and seven brothers and sisters.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at the Hamilton Cemetery on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mike Smith of Valley Baptist Church officiating.

Services and cremation are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

i helped take care of azalee when she was at mira vista she always had a smile and the sweetest person around i will miss her smile now azalee you can now be with harold
