RUSSELL WAITE Obituary

Russell M. Waite passed away peacefully April 16, 2011 in Sedro-Woolley.

He was born June 9, 1950 in Burlington to Raymond and Beverly Waite.

He was a lifelong Skagit Valley resident and graduated from Burlington-Edison High School where he made many friends, he kept in contact with over the years.

For the past ten years he worked at Wal-Mart in Mount Vernon, first in the sporting goods department, and then moving to door greeter, where he had the chance to help, and chat, with many different people. Prior to working at Wal-Mart he was employed by Riverside Lanes in Mount Vernon for thirteen years, where he had opportunity to do what he loved most in life, bowl.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly; son Shadrick and wife Sarah; granddaughter Miranda; daughter, Shawn Parris and husband Darrell; granddaughter, Kelsy Parris; great granddaughter, Chaywinn Parris; longtime companion, Karen Wilson; her daughter, Becky, and grandchildren, Andrew, Wyatt, and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Waite; and brother, Timothy Waite.

We would like to thank Drs. Pforte and assistant Holly, Jafari, and Wakelin. A very special thank you to the staff at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley, Sedro-Woolley, your understanding and kindness was very appreciated during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will take place at The Lodge next to Post Office in Clear Lake on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., food will be provided.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington.

I'll miss seeing you and being able to visit with you as I'm coming into shop or heading back home. We had many a great laugh especially at the old store in the Sporting Goods Dept.

A Celtic Blessing:
May you go forth under the strength of heaven, under the light of sun, under the radiance of moon;
May you go forth with the splendor of fire, with the speed of lightning, with the swiftness of wind;
May you go forth supported by the depth of sea, by the stability of earth, by the firmness of rock;
May you be surrounded and encircled, with the protection of the nine elements.

You will be missed by many my dear friend.

We shall meet, but we shall miss him,
There will be the vacant chair,
But though weno more posess him,
Still our hearts his memory bear.
But a while ago we gathered,
Friendship beaming in each eye,
Now the golden cord is severed,
He has passed to realms on high.

As a good friend, old neighbor and just the person to cheer anyone up- that's Russ. The smiles from the kids at Special Olympics and the hoops and hollers they made with hive fives were his specialty at the bowling alley. His hugs and high fives will be missed. God speed, I have great memories that I will cherish. Sue Gregg, Mount Vernon,WA
