Saddened to hear of the passing of my friends father, on my birthday no less. My father too lived 72 years. He was a joyful father, always loving. Loved adventures with his daughter Kirsten and family. RIP Mr. Britton

God greatly blessed Mr. Britton, his children are wonderful fruits of his life. I'm blessed to have known him, in the 80's. Thank you Dick for the stern kind hospitality for showed to me, I light a candle for you and pray for my old friend Kirsten and her brothers and sister for smiles with tears, and comfort during this hard time.

When Harry (Dick) and I met 45 years ago on Bainbridge Island he was a "practicing" agnostic. Coming from similar religious backgrounds and having only recently accepted Christ, I was full of new believer's enthusiasm and started systematically hammering on him. This led to many "animated" conversations over the next few months. He Was sharp!
For weeks he came up with every argument known to man to refute the reality of God. As time wore on, eventually his arguments became more and more specious until finally, late one night, he totally ran out of objections. Right then and there he made the decision to go for it (God). That night I got the honor of praying with him as he submitted his life to Christ. As the years have passed, I've come to appreciate what a privlege that was for me.
Over the many years since, I have never doubted the sincerity of his decision. He never lost an opportunity to express his gratitude for those late nights.
Dick knew that he had his share of faults. He was keenly aware that he, like you and me, was a sinner and that his ONLY HOPE was in his Savior. I'm positive that he would want you and me to be perfectly clear that he had placed ALL of his trust in Jesus Christ. And that, in due time, he would love to have you and me join him, for all eternity, with his Precious Savior.

Dick was a joy to do the flag folding for the Veterans in his church, and a gentle understanding man that warmed the hearts of those he spoke with. He will be missed.

Dick spread joy around him wherever he went. He was a man of faith, and of principle, and those of us who survive can only hope to emulate him. He made a difference in the world, and none can ask for a greater tribute. Good-bye for now, old friend.
