JEAN MATYE Obituary
She was born on January 9, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA, and was preceded in death by her much loved husband, Robert in 2009, after 64 years of marriage.
Throughout her life, Jean's particular talent for nurturing relationships brought her many long and mutually devoted friends associated with Robert's illustrious career in aviation as well as those ranging from childhood throughout her happy years in Anacortes and all her long and well lived life.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Laura Craven; son, Mark Matye; and son, Ken Matye and his partner JD West; grandsons, Robert Craven and his wife Norma, and Matt Craven; great-grandchildren, Miguel and Andrea Craven; God-daughter Jesilyn Stockdale; sisters, Barbara Arp (and husband Art) and Joie Schulhof (and husband Marvin); brother-in-law, Albert Matye (and wife Shirlene); nephew and dear neighbors, Marshall Matye and his wife Judy along with a large and beloved extended family.
The family is grateful for the heartfelt and supportive care of the gentle people at Hospice of the Northwest.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Northwest, the Anacortes Library, or a charity of your choice.
The Matye children are hosting an Appreciation of Family and Friends at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Skyline Beach Club, 5919 Cabana Lane, Skyline, Anacortes, WA 98221.
