WILLIS COLVIN Obituary
Willie's ambition in high school was to be a fisherman and that is what he became. He started fishing shortly out of high school and continued as a commercial fisherman for the next 60 years, fishing the waters of Puget Sound and Alaska.
In his early 20's Willie served in the National Guard. He was a life member of the Anacortes Eagles and the Anacortes Elks Lodge, serving as Past District Deputy of the Elks Grand Lodge and Past Exalted Ruler of the Anacortes Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Masonic Temple.
Willie spent many years for the Elks, donating his time raising funds for the Elks Therapy Program, the Children's Hospital and other local charities. He loved being able to help people in need. Willie enjoyed country music, dancing, and the Elks Follies.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes, with Pastor Debra R. H. Benson officiating. A reception will follow at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josephine Colvin; brothers, Clayburn and Perry; and sisters, Margaret, Sophie, and Zana.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Colvin of Mount Vernon; daughter, Melody Bolton of Georgia; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Boris Olich.
Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.

John and Diane, Melody, and family,
Your dad was always one of the good guys in our neighborhood while I was growing up. I know he had a huge influence in both of my brother's lives and I could always count on him to buy my Campfire Mints on the first morning of the sale. We always enjoyed Willie. He was so caring and such a character. Someone you'll never forget and we certainly won't. Will miss him much.
