He passed away in his sleep on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Burlington, WA.
Joe attended Marysville High School. After high school he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp at the age of 17. After being honorable discharged he worked the majority of his life in vacuum sales and won many awards.
Joe spent his last few years in a wheel chair, but never let it get him down and always had a joke or happy thought for everyone. He loved his family and he was a favorite among all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, "Joe" and Grace Rogers; sister, Cynthia Castor (David) of Marysville; daughter, Destiny Rogers of Sacramento, CA; Destiny's mother, Ladonna Chandler of Sacramento, CA; beloved step children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Nona Ploeg and Ralph and Leatha Rogers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 1:00 PM at the Avon United Methodist Church on Avon Allen Road, Mount Vernon, WA; refreshments will follow at the church.
