ANITA FISHER-MURPHY Obituary

Born on Cypress Island to Cleve & Cecelia Penter, long time Anacortes resident Anita "Frances" Fisher-Murphy passed away at home after a long illness surrounded by family on May 25, 2011.

A proud member of the Samish Indian Nation, Frances served on Tribal Council from 1975 to 1983, four of those years as Vice Chairman.

Frances especially enjoyed playing pool and being out on the salt water fishing.

Survivors include loving spouse Cecil Murphy; brother John Bellinger (Marlene), sister-in-law and close friend Jeanette Penter; granddaughters Dana Matthews (Phil), Shawn Sullivan (Joel), Jamie Easton (Doug); great-grandchildren Charyse Brinker (Hans), Ethan Matthews, Jasmine Eagle, Tessa Eagle, & Daniel Eagle, Hannah Sullivan, Emma Sullivan & Connor Sullivan, and Ryan Hickman; great-great-grandchild Tristan Brinker; step-children Robin Records (Kenny); Shelby Borden (Greg); Tally Allison (Steve) and numerous step- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends from Samish Nation.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Aaron, Edward, Leonard, Gerald, DeWayne, Arlen; her son, Eddie Sherman; and granddaughter Shannon Eagle.

At her request no services are planned.
