During more than sixty-four years of marriage, she and George raised their four children in Bellingham. They enjoyed traveling the world as tourists and also worked on the mission field in such places as Alaska, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Nicaragua and the Philippines. Ann worked tirelessly beside her husband, never complaining, as they helped with many building and water projects. They also worked with the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Hong Kong and Portugal.
Ann was very active in the First Baptist Church in Bellingham. She was involved with many committees in the church often serving as chairman and was very active in the American Baptist Women's group. She later served as President of the North Puget Sound Area. She also taught Sunday School and became the superintendent. Enjoying music all of her life, Ann sang for decades in the church choir.
Completing university studies later in life, Ann earned degrees at Skagit Valley College and Western Washington University. She worked as a teaching assist and a teacher. One of her favorite jobs was teaching citizenship classes.
A prolific baker of pies and desserts of all sorts Ann shared her love of baking with two generations of children.
Ann is survived by her husband, George, sister, Jean Darnell, and four children, Chris Galbraith (Hugh), of Sedro Woolley, Janet Lockman of San Diego, David Lockman of Bellingham, Jim Lockman of Bothell and grandchildren Chad Galbraith, Angela Galbraith, and Deidre Isdal as well as four great-grandsons.
