Colleen Marie Lemmon (1948 – 2011)

Colleen Marie Lemmon, 63, of Sedro Woolley died peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2011 after a year-long battle with cancer.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Colleen was born in Seattle on March 24, 1948 to Jack and Charlene (Smith) Lemmon. She moved to Burlington at 2 years old where she resided most of her life and considered her hometown. She graduated from Burlington-Edison HS in 1966; later received her BA in Psychology from WWU and then a BA in Nursing from SVC.
She worked many years as an accomplished psychiatric RN and had a passion for helping and advocating for those most vulnerable in our society.

Colleen loved her family, friends, riding horses, reading, walking on the beach, and living life to the fullest with a strong faith in God. She impacted many people's lives and will not be forgotten.

Colleen is survived by her daughter, Amy Johnson and her husband Dave; 4 grandchildren, Hailey and Samantha Foley and Alexis and Raegan Johnson; her sister Patty Smith; and her brother Tim Smith and his wife Esther.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Lemmon; her mother and stepfather, Charlene and Clarice Smith; her daughter Shauna Marie Lemmon; her sister Susan Smith; and her Grandparents Proctor and Thelma Butler and Clifford and Minnie Lemmon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials/donations be made to the UGH Foundation – North Puget Cancer Center.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
