Daryl Paul Duncan, 96, of Anacortes, Washington went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2012. He will be remembered for his quick wit and outgoing nature.

Daryl was born on November 2, 1915 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Alfred E. and Stella (Creswell) Duncan.
Daryl married Hazel Liljemark on July 1, 1939 and they were married for 61 years before Hazel passed away in 2001.
Daryl was an avid fan of all sports, especially hockey. He played hockey professionally for seven years until he was injured during a game in Madison Square Garden and had to retire from the sport.
Daryl and his family moved to Anacortes in August of 1946. He was a longtime shareholder in Anacortes Veneer and when they sold to Publishers, he continued to work there until his retirement in 1978. His "retirement job" was working at Frontier Ford into his 90's.
Daryl was a longtime and active member of Anacortes Lutheran Church.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; five brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Donn Hollenbeck of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Jeff and his wife,Vicky Hollenbeck and their son, Aaron Simpson of Corvallis, Oregon; and Kevin Hollenbeck of Sedro-Woolley; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Ellen Duncan and Sophie Liljemark of Minneapolis, MN.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Anacortes Lutheran Church, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. A private family interment will be at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes.
