Donna Mae Fletcher (Farstad) passed away suddenly and peacefully in her sleep on August 6, 2013 in Mount Vernon, Washington.

Donna was born January 3, 1962 in Burien, Washington to Pam and Richard Farstad.

Donna is survived by her son Brandon Farstad; mother Pamela (Hank) Moseley; sisters Kim (Glen) Cladek and Jamie Moseley; grandmother Donna Gregory; niece Jesseka; nephew Aiden, puppy dog Cash and many, many people whose lives she touched through her love and beautiful spirit.

Donna attended Port Townsend High School and graduated in 1980. She went on to work for the Port Townsend School District after working many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Donna was a beautiful spirit who loved giving to others. Her biggest accomplishment was raising her son Brandon, whom she loved with all her heart and soul. Donna had a pure heart and saw the good in all people. She had a genuine love for life and for the people in it. She would greet everyone with a beautiful smile and a loving hug. She always made sure the people in her life knew how much she loved them which was also how she lived her life; so full of love.

While Brandon was growing up Donna was a constant figure in the stands of the football and baseball fields where she was a relentless cheerleader, helping in the box office to raise money for the teams. She also had an immense passion for animals taking in a stray or two along the way. Camping with her family was an activity that Donna loved very much and some of her favorite stories came from those trips. She loved spending time with her family and her dog that she lovingly referred to as Cashie Poo.

Donna had a very artistic flair and could draw and paint anything from hand. She took great pride in her calligraphy and she was often asked to use that skill she perfected on schools awards and posters.

It wasn't uncommon to see Donna driving around town with the T-tops off her car and singing along with her favorite songs.
In the last few years Donna gave many hours of her free time to charities such as the Salvation Army. She loved to give and it was evident in how she lived her life every day.

Viewing services were held at Evans Funeral Home in Anacortes, Washington on Sunday, August 11, 2013 followed by a celebration of life immediately at the Elks in Anacortes.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be sent In Memory of Donna Farstad Fletcher to Animal Relief Fund of Anacortes, P.O. Box 906, Anacortes, WA 98221.

Donna will be missed by so many as she has touched the hearts of everyone she has come into contact with. Her personality and spirit were infectious and we are all better people for having the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands. To share memories of Donna, please sign the online guest register at
