Edward Lee Gibbs, 73, a former longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Republic, Washington on March 30, 2013.

He was born in Sylva, North Carolina, the son of James and Frankie Gibbs. He moved to Skagit County in 1946.
Edward worked as a welder and fabricator at Skagit Steel and Bendix.
He loved fishing on the Skagit River with his son David. He cherished his close friends and family and you would often see him enjoying a cup of coffee with friends at a local cafe. Ed had many interest including gardening and wood working.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Gibbs; his mother, Frankie and his brother, Frank Gibbs.
Edward was survived by his daughter, Mickie McDonald; his sons Butch and David Gibbs; his granddaughters, Jennifer Anderson and Jamie MacMenamin and his great-grandchildren, Ava and Logan Anderson; sisters, Juanita James, Linda Osborne, Libby Bussing and Katie Mellon and his brothers, Jim, Melvin and Jack Gibbs.
At Ed's request there will not be a service but at a later date we will have a celebration of his life.
