Evelyn B. Anderson, 96, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 26, 2009 in Everett, Washington.

She was born May 29, 1913 in Anacortes, Washington, graduated from Anacortes High School, and lived most of her life in her home town.
She married Bernard Anderson in 1936 and raised her family near Campbell Lake outside of town.
Evelyn was active in the First Assembly of God Church in Anacortes for many years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and assisting with the Women's Missionary programs.
Bernard and Evelyn enjoyed traveling after he retired, visiting Norway, Alaska, Hawaii and Florida.
She lived in the family home for many years after Bernard passed away, mowing the hilly 2 acres with a walk behind mower, keeping her garden, and visiting with neighbors.
Her home was the center of family activity until she moved to assisted living. She enjoyed being busy making many unique dolls and keeping the family supplied with knitted dish cloths and dish scrubbers. Family was always welcome to drop in for a visit. She enjoyed cooking and grandchildren could always find homemade cookies, bread or lefse for snacking.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; brother, Gordon Jorgensen; son-in-law, David E. Russell; and grandson, Bruce Anderson.
She is survived by her, sister, LaRene Fox; daughter, Arlene Russell of Everett; son, Dr. Lee B. (Emily) Anderson of Anacortes; grandchildren, Rhonda (Steve) Griffin, Eric (Kit) Russell, Dr. Stuart (Pam) Russell, Rayanne Zackery, Sandi Russell, Brian (Donna) Anderson, Aaron (Aileen) Anderson, Beth Anderson, Rebecca Walter and Stacie (Jason) Quatsoe; great-grandchildren Lisa (Michael) Stevens, Katherine (Casey) Klein, Spc. Daniel Griffin, U.S. Army, Cheryl Griffin, Jazmine Griffin, Jalisa Griffin, Pv2. Cruz (Danielle) Griffin, U.S. Army, Lee Griffin, Andrew Griffin, Timothy Griffin, David Russell, Paul Russell, Anna Russell, Benjamin Russell, William Russell, Thomas Russell, Anthony Zackery, Jesse Zackery, Quamira Russell, Dejah Anderson, Matthew (Jennifer) Anderson, Erica Anderson, John Anderson, Miya Anderson, Paige Anderson, Keith Anderson-Do, Jacob Ergler; and great-great-grandchildren, Aden Stevens, Elsie Stevens, Griffin Stevens, Kali Klein, Lincoln Klein, and Kaiden Anderson.
Memorials are suggested to the Children's Ministry fund of the First Assembly of God Church in Anacortes, or to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 and from 9:00 am to 11:45 am on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Anacortes with burial to follow at Grand View Cemetery. A reception will take place at the church following the burial, all are welcome.
