HERMINA IDDINS Obituary

Hermina Verbrugge Iddins, 95, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Warm Beach Senior Community in Stanwood, WA.

Hermina was born December 3, 1915 to Adrian and Jennie Verbrugge at Lynden, WA.

She graduated from Lynden High School in 1933. She then attended Success Business College in Bellingham, WA and subsequently worked for People's State Bank in Lynden. She also studied at the University of Washington and Northern Baptist Theological College in Chicago, IL.

She married Bert R. Iddins in 1937.

Hermina has been very active in the American Baptist Women's Association and held several offices on the local and state levels.
She was the president of the state organizations in both Washington and Idaho. In 1967, she was a representative of the Washington state organization to a conference at the United Nations in New York City.

Hermina and Bert moved to Warm Beach Senior Community in 1998.

She was a member of the Bellingham Baptist Church.

Her hobbies and interests in the past have been RVing, rock hunting, hiking and backpacking and, more recently, bird watching, ceramics and knitting. She has knitted over thirty sweaters for World Vision's project "Knit for Kids" which has provided sweaters for children across America and around the world.

Hermina was preceded in death by Bert, her husband of 68 years.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert and his wife Carolyn of Sequim, WA, Daniel, his wife Deborah of Bow, WA and Paul, his wife Tinker of Clinton, WA, five grandsons, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her sister, Nella Shagren of Lynden, WA.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 16, at 10:00 AM, at Beachwood Chapel, Warm Beach Senior Community Center, 20420 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA.

Bob, I too remember your parents well. As a young person, I thought your mother was the epitome of a LADY. She always said and did the right thing and was so gracious. She was also a wonderful friend to my mother, Fern Arms. You have my deepest sympathy in this time.

Bob, Dan and Paul, I remember your parents well when your Dad was Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Payette, Idaho. My mother was the church secretary then. You are fortunate to have had your mother for such a long time. She was a remarkable lady. May God comfort you in your loss.
