Kathryn "Kay" Lorene Eisenzimer, age 95, formerly of Anacortes, Washington, passed away on May 28, 2014 in Salem, Oregon.

She was born to Floyd Laurence and Eva Mae Griffeth on August 24, 1918, and was raised in Cushing, Oklahoma.

In 1940, Kay earned her nursing degree at the Halstead Hospital School of Nursing in Halstead, Kansas. She went on to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In 1947, she married George Edward Simpson, and the two resided in Milwaukie, Oregon. George died in 1978. In 1979, Kay married Ferdinand Earl Eisenzimer, and they resided in Anacortes, Washington. Ferdinand died in 2004.

She will be remembered for her deep love of family, generous nature, and quick wit. Kay found joy in serving others, and made friends everywhere she went.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, George Simpson; husband, Ferdinand Eisenzimer; and son, David Simpson.

Kay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randy Williams of Salem, Oregon; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Larsen of Phoenix, Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cathy Eisenzimer of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Jermyn of Oak Harbor, Washington; and daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Bob Tracy of Anacortes, Washington. 15 grandchildren survive her: Ryan and Monica Crowell, Andy and Kristina Eisenzimer, Geoff and Michelle Eisenzimer, Matthew and Lisa Larsen, Susan and Gary Matchinsky, Ed and Laurie Plies, Alison Reagin, and Justin and Stephanie Williams.
Kay is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, including: Isaiah Crowell, Andy Eisenzimer, Mila Eisenzimer, Sydney Larsen, Tyler Larsen, Adam Matchinsky, Holly Matchinsky, Abigail Plies, Benton Plies, Cole Reagin, and Esther Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Evans Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Grand View Cemetery.
