She went peacefully in her sleep at her daughters home in Kirkland on June 10, 2014.

Born April 9, 1932 in White City, Kansas. Madeen made her way along with her family to Mount Vernon in 1944.
She worked in the bulbs, berries and all Mount Vernon farmers had to offer. Then took a job at the theatres and JC Pennys. She graduated Mount Vernon High School.
In 1958 she moved to Southern California where she was employed with Pennzoil oil Company working on their computer systems. They then moved her to Houston, TX and then to Atlanta, GA. Upon retirement she moved back to WA.
She had a passion for sunshine and was an avid reader, also worked crosswords daily. Her mind was very sharp. Now she is in the glory of all the sunshine!
We will miss her smiling face.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle (Jim) Fraser and daughter in law Ruth Turner, 3 grandchildren, Karen, Christian, and Richard (wife) Turner and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her son Rick Turner and husband Robert Estes.
