Mary Allison was born on April 6, 1915 near Twin Falls, Idaho to Arthur and Ada Reams. She learned the value of hard work early on as she helped on the family farm daily and experienced the years of the Great Depression in her teens.

She graduated from Twin Falls High School and attended Utah State University to become a teacher. Her first job was in Hartline, WA. It was there that she met Robert Allison. They married in 1941. After a few years they settled in Connell, WA. They raised their two sons, and remained there throughout their married life.

Mary had many talents and interests. She enjoyed sewing cooking collecting recipes, gardening, flower arranging, wheat weaving, painting and playing cards. She like to watch sporting events, musical productions and plays, as well as participate in church activities and Bible Studies. She was an active member of the Connell United Methodist Church. Traveling was one of her loves as well. She and Bob took many wonderful trips to various parts of the world, usually accompanied by friends. They enjoyed winters in their motor home in Arizona.

Mary moved to Kennewick, WA in 2004 then to Sedro-Woolley, WA in 2006. She experienced her true "Independence Day" as she passed away peacefully on July 4, 2009 at the age of 94. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life that will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
