Chester Arvon Goad passed away February 1, 2014 in Mount Vernon, WA. He was Born April 12, 1923 in Darrington, WA.

Chester attended Sedro Woolley High School. He married Melba Curtis on October 29, 1943 in Sedro Woolley, WA and had four children; Charlie, Mike, Jerry, and Theresa.
He was inducted into the Air Force on Feb. 2, 1943 in Tacoma, WA as a flight maintenance/Gunner 748, served in Germany and Rome and was decorated with Air Medal, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 1 Overseas Bar and European-Africa-Middle East Theatre ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Honorably discharged June 30, 1945. Married Elza Y Boehler on June 21, 1963 and had one child: Tia, worked at Montgomery Ward in Mount Vernon, Northern State and then Carroll Mill in Sedro Woolley for 10 years.
Early 60's moved to Seattle where he worked at Boeing then became self-employed. Later he returned to Skagit County where he began working for Burger King July of 1991 til the summer of 2012. He gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ in 1973.
Chester loved music, art, the outdoors, and sharing his knowledge and history with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his children: Charlie and Becky goad of Mount Vernon, WA., Mike and Susie Goad of Anacortes, WA., Jerry and Rosie Goad of Oroville, WA., Theresa and Mark Hargitt of Anacortes, WA., Tia and Mario Garcia of Denver, CO., grandchildren: Jamie Goad and Jennifer Goad of Seattle, WA., Michelle Massroon of South Carolina, Joshua Goad, of Burlington, WA., Sarah Hoyle of Concrete, WA., Brandon Knudson of Seattle, WA., Tony Knudson of Sedro Woolley, WA., Harmony Hargitt of Anacortes, WA., and Chester Nobles of Cushing, OK., and 12 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 from 10am to 5pm and Friday, Feb. 7 10am until service at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at 2:30pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home with a graveside to follow.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.
