Zella Lutterloh, 96, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away peacefully, at The Bridge Assisted Living, in Mount Vernon, Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Zella was born June 18, 1917 in Libby, Montana to Earl and Vera Buckingham.

As a young child, Zella moved with her family to the Pacific Northwest. Zella graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1935 and married George Lutterloh in 1938. They lived in Sedro-Woolley where they raised their four children.

In 1963, Zella graduated from Skagit Valley College as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Skagit Valley Hospital for several years. Zella was a long-time member of the Sedro-Woolley Garden Club and the Study Club and greatly enjoyed participating in their activities.

Zella also was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Burlington. She regularly attended the M&M (More Mature) Bible study home group.

Four children survive Zella, sons, Ralph Lutterloh (Donna) of Milton, Bill Lutterloh of Snohomish, Jim Lutterloh of Romney IN; daughter, Nancy Burns (Mike) of Mount Vernon; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Her husband, George, parents Earl and Vera Buckingham, and her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Austin Anderson, preceded her in death.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Bridge Assisted Living, Skagit Hospice, and Dr. Edwin Stickle for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 12:00PM at Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley, WA with Pastor Jim Shaw of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Memorials can be made to Faith Baptist Church in Burlington or Skagit Hospice.
