John Alexander Lofgren, Jr., 91, of Anacortes, Washington, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Fidalgo Care Center in Anacortes.

He was born on January 20, 1923 in Spokane, Washington, the son of John Alex and Ruth (McGovern) Lofgren.
John grew up during the Depression and learned to fix, build, or invent whatever his mind could imagine. He continued that creativity and love of learning throughout his life as he became a builder, machinist, and photographer.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Audrey Lofgren; daughters, Teryl Monson and Susan Lofgren; granddaughters, Kristine Lindell and Tonya Blundell; great-grandchildren, Quinn Lindell, Carson Lindell, Blake Blundell, Trenton Blundell and Logan Blundell; brother, Dr. Carlton Lofgren of Riverside, CA; and sister, Joanne Shepherd of Georgetown, CA.
Interment was held at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes.
