Anemarie B. (Gorman) Porter, 71, musician and teacher, died at her home near Renton Sunday evening, March 9th, 2014.

She was born March 30, 1942 in Seattle to J. Maxwell Gorman and Gladyce Bennetsen Gorman.

As she was starting seventh grade her family moved to Day Creek, Washington where they owned and operated the local store. She completed her elementary and high school education in Sedro Woolley where she was an honors graduate with the SWHS class of 1960. Anemarie graduated from Seattle University in 1964. After college graduation she taught in the Renton school district.

She married Sedro Woolley classmate Theodore Porter in April 1967. They made their home in the Renton area. Later she resumed her teaching career as a piano instructor.

She is survived by her husband Theodore, son Patrick, daughter Katherine Beauprey, and two granddaughters, Sara and Emily Cleland.

A celebration for Anemarie will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton Washington.
