March 24, 1930-July 9, 2014

Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, July 9th. Her bright smile and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Rita lived life to the fullest through all its journeys.

Together with her husband Morrie they raised four boys (she kept hoping for a girl). After Morrie retired she enjoyed their many winter trips to Arizona. Music became their greatest passion. Together with Morrie they played with the musical group The Renegades and also belonged to the WA Old Time Fiddlers Assc. She loved to sing and play the dobro. Her songs were always a favorite at the many retirement centers they played for.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and grandson Eric.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Morrie; sons, Rick (Tammy), Bruce (Cheryl), Steve (Stacy) and Matt (son Justin), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her wishes were to be buried privately at the Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon.

A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, July 27th 1:00pm at the Samish Valley Grange, 4320 Hwy 9, Sedro-Woolley. Music will be ini the air.
