Ramona Z. Salinas, age 69, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Prestige Care in Burlington, WA.
She was born in Brownsville, Texas on November 5, 1944 the daughter of Emilio and Carmen Zavala.

Ramona along with her family traveled to the State of Washington many times during her childhood and finally decided to make Burlington their home in 1955. It is here in Burlington where she met the love of her life Eberto Jose "Joe" Salinas. It was through Joe and the Salinas family that Ramona was introduced to the Apostolic Faith of Jesus Christ. On May 23, 1962 at the age of 18 years old, Ramona accepted the Lord as her Christ and Savior, was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ at Lake Whatcom and filled with the Holy Spirit. She was united in marriage shortly after with Rev. Eberto Jose "Joe" Salinas on May 25, 1962 and lived in Burlington, where they raised their 3 children, Ben, Lorrie and Elisabeth.

Ramona joined her husband immediately as a helpmate and supported Rev. Salinas in the Apostolic Ministry under the organization of the Apostolic Faith of Jesus Christ here in Burlington. They became a dynamic duo working for the kingdom of God and reaching the lost souls. During their ministry, Ramona took an active role in heading up the fund raising department for the church, where she begun selling homemade Tacos and Tamales. It was during this time that she begun operating her successful business of 38 years, "Ramona's Mexican Taco Booth" in the Skagit Valley Area. As we all came to know, you could never just eat one of those "tacos" and who can forget about her famous hot sauce.

On June 27, 1989, Rev. Eberto and Sis. Ramona Salinas along with her brother-in-law Rev. Reynaldo Salinas and wife Elvira Salinas co-founded Casa de Dios Puerta del Cielo, Iglesia Apostolica Misionera a Spanish speaking church in Burlington, WA. Ramona served on the Board of Directors and held the position of Sunday School Superintendent until December 2011.

Ramona graduated from Burlington-Edison High School and further continued her education at Skagit Valley College where she received her diploma in 1969; she then went on to attend Western Washington University where her studies lead her into childhood education. Ramona was employed by Skagit Valley College and served as an educator in the Head Start program for over 30 years, she retired on January 31, 2002.
