Jeanette (Yette) Gladys Summers, 91, of Anacortes, Washington died peacefully at home July 17, 2014. She was born in Wolverton, Minnesota on October 23, 1922 the daughter of Ludvig and Hannah Elvebak.

Jeanette moved to Lake Campbell with her Norwegian parents at age one and a half and lived there for the next 90 years. Jeanette attended Dewey school for eight years and graduated from Anacortes High School in 1941. She was confirmed in the Anacortes Lutheran Church. Jeanette spent three years after graduation earning her Registered Nurses Degree at Everett General Hospital. She worked as a nurse at the old Anacortes hospital for the next few years.

Jeanette married Harold ("Hallie") Summers on June 29, 1946. Within a few months they moved into Jeanette's home place and helped care for her mother until her death in 1970.

Jeanette loved the outdoors and nature. She loved camping, agate hunting, gardening, feeding the birds and riding her John Deere lawnmower. She was keeper of the records of family and local history. Jeanette kept her place always looking like a park. She loved her old farm home with its wood burning stove that she used almost daily. Her kitchen was always warm and inviting. She loved dancing with Hallie to country western music. More than anything she was proud of her family, and loved each and every one of them! Jeanette loved a saying that her mother taught her; "where there is heart room there is house room". She will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.

A Celebration of Life was held on the home place Saturday, July 20, 2014 led by Pastor Jay Decker of the Anacortes Lutheran Church. It was attended by over 100 people, including 60 plus relatives that began arriving a day earlier for the annual Elvebak family reunion held each year in July.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Greg and Heidi Summers of Bellingham; daughter and son in law, Cynthia and Leo Rosenberger of Mountlake Terrace; grandchildren, Joel and Jordan Summers, Stuart Rosenberger and his wife, Elizabeth, and Sarah Rosenberger; precious great-granddaughter, Alice Rosenberger; sister, Olive Page of Mount Vernon; brother, Walter Elvebak of Anacortes; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and life-long friend and neighbor, Merna Keller at Lake Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Summers in 1994; parents, Ludvig and Hannah Elvebak; brother, Harold Elvebak; sisters, Olga Wedlund, Marion Hilmo, and Lillian Miller; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Beverly Elvebak. Jeanette will be buried at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes, along with her and Hallie's dancing shoes.
