Elizabeth Marae Balthazor, 50, of Anacortes, Washington died Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Anacortes with her sons and Martin at her side.

She was brought into the world in Mount Vernon, Washington on June 2, 1964 by Donald and Bette Balthazor and was the youngest of three children.

Beth loved nature and the outdoors and was outside her whole life, rain or shine. She never had any fear, giving everything her all and always seeing the good in people. As a child she loved to ride horses and dirt bikes and also, at a young age, she was mechanically inclined, working on all of her own vehicles, including her Mustang that she had at the age of 18.

Beth always worked hard no matter what she did. She was a boat yard manager at Skyline Marina and Cap Sante Marina-Marine Service Center. At one time she was the only female boat lift operator north of Seattle.

Beth was married to Adrian Franulovic and they had two boys, Brandon and Joshua, whom she loved dearly.

Her hobbies were collecting rocks and bones, whittling wood, gardening, and caring for animals in need.

In her last days she was named Shutengs Wae Fae by the Native American people, meaning "She who walk with Mother Earth".

Beth was preceded in death by her father, Donald in 1999.

She is survived by her sons, Brandon and fiancé, Natalie and Joshua and friend, Brie; partner, Martin Monahan; mother, Bette Burgess; brother, Mike Balthazor; sister, Cindy Balthazor; and aunts and uncles, Diane and Virg Taylor, Darrell and Nancy Balthazor, Dave and Audrey Balthazor, and Larry and Arlyne Wollan.

A Celebration of Life for Beth will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Croatian Cultural Center in Anacortes.

A private family interment will be held at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes.

Memorials may be made to the Beth Balthazor Fund in care of Skagit State Bank.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands. To share memories of Beth, please sign the online guest register at www.evanschapel.com.
