Lola Irene Locken went to be with her Lord on April 8, 2012. She was born October 2, 1923 near Garnett, Kansas to Harry and Bessie Mae Snell. Lola was youngest of five siblings, Raymond, Nema, Curtis, and Caroll. She was raised on the family farm in Garnett and her family moved to Lawrence, Kansas where she graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1941. Lola attended the UK, going directly to work for the Federal Government during WWII.

After WWII, Lola followed her siblings to Washington and settled in Sedro Woolley where she spent the rest of her life. She worked at Northern State Hospital as Administrative Secretary. During these years, Lola met and married James Edward (Ed) Locken in Sedro Woolley, on June 22, 1951. She had three children Rickey Lee, Ronald Eldon, and Ruth Ann.
Ed and Lola owned Ed's Sport Shop in Mt. Vernon. They loved to fish, and spent many summers on Puget Sound or Ross Lake with friends and family. They traveled to California to enjoy hunting and camping with Ron and family.
During retirement the couple traveled the world and spent time with family. Lola loved family, and enjoyed family reunions. 2002 was their last road trip traveling to Missouri with daughter Ruth Ann and children Daemon, Bryce and Jordyn to attend a Snell Reunion. Lola traveled with grandchildren, Jason and Lee to see their father, Rick in Guam. The highlight of her life was treating her children, spouses, and grandchildren to a three week vacation in Hawaii.
Lola was a member of the Hammond Organ Club. The couple was also members of The Wild Women of Woolley.
Lola also loved her church family and the Locken's were members of The Valley Baptist Church.
After Ed's death in 2006, Lola was moved to Centralia to be near Ruth Ann and family. There, she died peacefully of old age.
Lola was preceded in death by Keith Leon Renfro (baby son), her parents and siblings, and Ed Locken (husband).
She leaves three children Rickey Lee Renfro and family, California, Ronald Eldon Renfro and family, California, and Ruth Ann Locken-Hall and family, Washington.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012, 2:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
