James F. Barr, age 68, went to be with his lord on February 5, 2013.
The Guest Book is expired.
Jim was born April 7, 1944 in Sedro-Woolley Washington to Mary and Clarence Barr.
Jim was a resident of Sedro-Woolley for 68 years. As a young man, he started working for a sheet metal company then proceeded to work as a roofer with his lifelong best friend Wayne Reim. Jim then ventured into running the card tables at the Red Dog Tavern leading into several fun stories that he shared throughout the rest of his life. Jim found his career working for Cascade Job Corps for almost 30 years, retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor. Throughout his career he helped mentor several students and was well liked and respected by his peers.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his friends that were considered family. In his younger years Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping and bowling in tournaments with his friends and later became fond of vacations in Hawaii, going to the casino, going to new restaurants with his friends and spoiling his Dachshunds; there was always one by his side throughout his entire life. One of his favorite things to do was attend Football and Baseball games, being a loyal fan going to many Seahawks and Mariners games over the years with his family and friends and when he couldn't make it to the game, he would be cheering them on from home.
Jim was always willing to help someone in need and lend an ear or a hand. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and a past President and current member of the Sedro Woolley Eagles.
Jim is survived by his uncle, Howard Barr of Indiana; cousin, Artella Madson of Oregon; cousin, William Henry of California; cousin, Robert Henry of California; cousin, Tom Henry of California; cousin, Lori O'Connor of California; and cousinn Kathy Lowery of New York.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Barr as well as his loving sister Suzanne Franklin.
